All frosting is homemade. All cakes are frosted with a butter cream frosting. It is made with real butter and a baker's grade of shortening called "High Ratio" shortening. This makes a huge difference in taste and smoothness. The frosting can be flavored with such things as chocolate, almond, jams, fresh fruit, Amaretto, Creme De Menth, etc. Frosting will be placed under fondant as well. Note***Butter will need to be eliminated from the frosting if your event is outside in the heat
Fillings go between two layers of cake and can be different than the frosting placed on the outside of the cake. Here are a few ideas to get you started. Mix any filling with the cake of your choice for a uniquely you flavor!
Peanut butter Frosting
Fresh Strawberries* (or other fruit)
Any variety of Crushed Cookies or Candy Bars
Chocolate Hazelnut Frosting
Most people do not care for the taste of store bought fondant. I use a tastier, homemade marshmallow fondant to cover the cake. Give it a try, you might be surprised! There are many more design options to decorate your cake if you choose to incorporate fondant.
