All frosting is homemade. All cakes are frosted with an American butter cream frosting which contains vanilla and imitation almond flavoring. It is made with real butter and a baker's grade of shortening called "High Ratio" shortening. This makes a huge difference in taste and smoothness. The frosting can be flavored with such things as chocolate, almond, jams, fresh fruit, Amaretto, Creme De Menth, etc. Frosting will be placed under fondant as well.
Fillings go between two layers of cake and can be different than the frosting placed on the outside of the cake. Here are a few ideas to get you started. Mix any filling with the cake of your choice for a uniquely you flavor!

Most people do not care for the taste of store bought fondant. I use a tastier, homemade marshmallow fondant to cover the cake and to make decorations. Give it a try, you might be surprised! There are many more design options to decorate your cake if you choose to incorporate fondant.
